Marshals' Training Day 2024

Thursday 04 January 2024

Woodland Grange Hotel in Leamington Spa, Saturday 20th January.

The Marshals’ and Volunteers’ Day is taking place very soon on Saturday 20 January at Woodland Grange, Leamington Spa. The programme is divided into three parts: in the morning is the Senior Officials’ Meeting. Invitations were sent out before Christmas. In the afternoon there will be a training session (details below) followed, in the evening, by the Marshals’ Dinner. Eligibility for the dinner is those people who have marshalled or carried out other voluntary duties for the Club for three, or more, days in 2023. Invitations for the dinner were also sent out before Christmas. If you feel you should have received an invitation to either the SOs’ meeting or the dinner and haven’t done so please contact the Competition Department at TOPO as soon as possible.

The afternoon’s training course starts at 1.45pm and comprises of a number of short modules as follows: Race Flagging; Basic Radio (particularly for trials); CPR/Defibrillator Refresher and Fire Training (Theory and Practical).

We hope to finish by 4.30 to allow people to refresh themselves before the dinner. Most of the sessions will be lead by Alan Page and upgrade signatures can be given to those marshals affiliated to MSUK. The practical fire training will be outside on the car park so you should bring warm, weatherproof clothing and strong gloves. The modules are all stand alone and attendees can opt in or out as they wish.

You are welcome to attend the training even if you are not attending the earlier meeting or the dinner.  If you plan to attend any of the training sessions please click here and fill out the form as soon as possible.
