Welsh Scatter Rally
07 Oct 2017
Presteigne, Powys
So, you would like to take part in the Welsh Weekend but are not a triallist?
Worry not, for help is at hand in the form of a Scatter Rally to be held on the Saturday.
Taking part in this will allow you to exercise your vintage or PVT motor car on a road event during the day, join the throng of cars and fellow Members in Presteigne during the late afternoon and evening, and either marshal or spectate on the Trial on the Sunday.
There will be two strands to the scatter.
One will be of the well-established scatter format - involving basic navigational skills and the ability to cope with map references, tulip diagrams, herringbones and the like, to take you to a variety of clue points scattered around Presteigne. There will be no set route, nor any timing beyond the need to finish by a set time.
The other, the much easier “Champagne Class”, is designed for those who beyond basic map reading skills should not be seriously challenged in finding their way to the clue points as they will be provided with a marked map showing the location of these well before their starting time.
The start will be in the late morning in Presteigne with coffee provided at “signing-on”, while the event will finish on the outskirts of the town from 4.00pm onwards, with tea, sandwiches and cake to occupy Competitors while the results are being worked out.
Supplementary Regulations and Entry Forms will be available from the Club office in the usual way. Do come along and join us for some relatively gentle, enjoyable and not too challenging competition within the Welsh Weekend.
