Cumbrian Tour

Next year’s Cumbria Tour will take place on Wednesday 10^th June. This is a break from the tradition of holding VSCC county tours at weekends for a number of reasons aimed at reducing frustration for those taking part. For the same reasons the number of entries on the tour will be restricted. Intense tourism in the area often results in many roads in the more popular parts of the county being congested at weekends. With few exceptions, the roads in the county are narrow, often steep and certainly twisting and turning, hence traffic flow can be slow. However, you can be assured of a spectacular route through one of the UK’s most picturesque counties using tulip style road books and supplementary ‘places of interest’ information sheets. Cumbria is a big county and the tour will not be a whistle stop affair, more a leisurely drive through parts of the county that allows the entrants to stop and enjoy the scenery or villages if they wish.
