Loton Park Hill Climb
15 Sep 2012 - 16 Sep 2012
Nr Alberbury, Shropshire SY5 9AG
Set in a picturesque deer park the Hill is 1475 yards in length and includes a downhill section before the steep, twisty rise to the summit. Competitors will be challenged by the usual sequence of bends, with an average gradient of 1 in 25 (4%), with the steepest of 1 in 7 (14%). It’s rated as one of the UK’s most demanding hills by competitors.
The usual eclectic mixture of Edwardian, Vintage, PVT and Post-war Historic Racing Cars (including Formula 3 500’s) will be taking to the hill and will be joined by a new class of Invited Pre-1966 Cars for 2012, so there is sure to be something to cater for the tastes of every car enthusiast attending.
Not only will spectators be able to take in the on-track action, but the Paddock is also open for all those in attendance to peruse and experience. VSCC paddocks provide an evocative return to a foregone time of spine-tingling engineering triumphs, the smell of Castrol R and the camaraderie that any Pre-war driver would be proud of.
VSCC Loton also has a strong social element of the event with on site camping, trade stands and the now traditional hog roast on Saturday evening kindly hosted by Robin and David Baker. For many, Loton Park is a highlight of the season and the local membership will be promoting our event to generate a good crowd. If you have not been to Loton Park before put this one in your diary.
