Brooklands Double Twelve Driving Concours
16 Jun 2012 - 17 Jun 2012
Brooklands Museum, Weybridge
The Brooklands Double Twelve Motorsport Festival
Following the success of the Brooklands Double Twelve Motorsport Festival in 2011, which saw almost 5,000 people attend over the two day event, the Double Twelve will return in 2012 on the 16 - 17 June. Once again expected to be the biggest motoring competition held at Brooklands since 1939, the VSCC will continue to work alongside the Brooklands team to organise this two-day motorsport extravaganza.
2012 is the 105th Anniversary of the Brooklands site and ‘Founders Day’ will be celebrated during the Double Twelve weekend, on Sunday 17 June.
In 2011 the event saw almost 144 classic and vintage cars taking part in Driving Tests and a Concours D’elegance over the two days (The Double Twelve Driving Concours), with almost 90 Pre-war cars taking part in a Speed Sprint on the adjoining Mercedes-Benz World circuit (The Double Twelve Speed Trials) on the Saturday. On Sunday, The Test Hill Challenge took place in the early afternoon - the steep Test Hill was tackled by everything from a gaggle of Sinclair C5s to giant Pre-war racing cars-and to ensure that there’s fun for all the family, there were running races up the 352ft (107m) concrete slope for children. Some vehicles even headed down the hill in a test of their brakes.
Nic Waller and team are delighted to announce the classes for the 2012 Driving Concours events. From Pre-war to the late 1970s a wide range of exciting machinery will be able to compete in this prestigious event that combines a Concours with Driving Tests laid out in the grounds of the historic Brooklands Estate, including the infamous ‘Test Hill’ and the original banking. A prestigious team of judges will asses cars for the Concours element of the event:

Class B 80 Years of the Coupe des Dames (Lady drivers sports & rally cars)
Class C ‘The Grand Tour’ Pre-war (touring cars from 1918 – 1939)
