VSCC CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

To mark IWD2021, the Vintage Sports-Car Club curated a two hour programme hosted across social media and the website to celebrate women involved in the Club.

Highlights included an interview with prominent Guild of Motoring Writers member, Lara Platman, who talked about some of the ‘fast ladies’ of yesteryear which was presented alongside stories from current members including our remarkable amateur racers Liz Cawley, Rebecca Smith, Jo Blakeney-Edwards, Sue Darbyshire and Rebecca Gunn and marshals Angela Jones and Rachel Bolton-King.

Hagerty UK also published an article on encouraging more women into the classic car community and the Club Secretary provided a comment for this and featured briefly on BBC Radio Oxford on Sunday morning, that snippet can be found here (UK listeners only) at approximately 1 hour and 16 minutes in.
